It has been my pleasure to know and work with Joan Crea. She was contracted by my employer to update policy and procedures manuals for many departments within the organization. This was an enormous project. Her workstation was in the Education Department where I worked, and thus I was able to observe many positive and admirable traits in Joan during this time.
She managed the project successfully by staying organized and focused, and communicating often and clearly with each department head. She possesses a friendly yet professional demeanor in interacting with others regardless of her position within the organization. I have seen samples of her writing, brochures and various marketing pieces and they are accurate, well designed and sharp. What she produces so effortlessly, I struggle with, which is why I contact her for advice and suggestions.

Joan Crea represents an unusual blend of personal integrity, a warm personality, and a commitment to produce work which consistently bespeaks high professional standards.
My contact with Joan was through her willingness to assist me in preparing promotional materials for my work as a concert artist. She first listened attentively as I described my needs. Then, working well with budget guidelines, she subsequently developed a complete publicity and press kit (including photos which she herself took and edited) for my use. The resulting photos and other materials she prepared on my behalf have been used many times, and have actually proven to be of far more value than simple head shots taken by a professional studio photographer – at much greater expense.
As an artist, I have valued her attention to detail, patience, high standards and desire to invest herself into enterprises possessing ethical integrity. I have also observed her ability to creatively coordinate her own talents with those of her many associates. This has allowed her to be of assistance to a remarkable array of professional enterprises and humanitarian interests.

While serving as Director of Education and Quality Management Services at Forrest General Hospital, it was my pleasure to work with Joan Crea in a capacity that allowed me to attest to her excellent work ethic and expertise. Four major projects that she completed for me demonstrate particular skill sets applicable to the healthcare industry as well as other businesses:
Joan demonstrated strong organizational and writing skills by completing an extensive rewrite of the hospital’s Administrative Policy Manual and the Nursing Policy Manual. This project required strong organizational and writing skills, as well as an ability to deal calmly with department heads.
Development of a successful business plan for relocating certain Education Department functions to the Family Y. Joan’s analytical and organizational skills, as well as basic understanding of proactive fundamental business principles were evident during this process.
Development of an instructional manual for users of the hospital’s computerized patient information system required analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to comprehend complex systems and relate them in a simple format.
Another deliverable was the Education Department’s Community Program and Services Guide.
Each of these deliverables required project management skills for successful completion.
Tight timeframes and stringent specifications were characteristic of each project. Joan was exceptional in all aspects of performance.

My first encounter with Joan Crea was by phone. I was searching for an unusual person -- a proven marketing communications professional that could quickly understand how King's fit in the medical business. That same person needed to be a skilled writer who could supply ideas and copy to help me market King's services to hospitals across the country. That "screening phone call" ended nearly an hour later. We met a few weeks later in Atlanta and I concluded she was my best candidate. Extenuating circumstances prevented her move to Ohio at that time, but after her move she became a key member of my marketing and communications team.
Joan is a business person with extraordinary conceptual thinking ability. There are many business marketing persons and many writers, but there are few business persons with ideas and the ability to communicate them clearly. From literally a dozen documents and several meetings with my staff, Joan was able to understand King's meaningful differences and relate them in copy for sales literature and a new web site.
In addition to being very pleasant and a quick study, she is a talented writer and communicator, and easy to assimilate into a work group.

I had the pleasure of working with Joan on a long-term project in 2007-2008, for which she provided business analysis and strategic planning services. I found her to be insightful and articulate, with a detailed understanding of the issues that were presented, which can only come from possessing a broad base of experience as well as having "done your homework". She is able to communicate in a "down-to-earth" fashion that effectively frames the business issues while still putting her clients at ease, allowing for competent and timely decisions to be made after careful analysis of the facts. In addition, Joan is a tireless worker who approaches each project with passion and a "can-do" attitude. I am happy to give her my strong recommendation.
